Kim's Story, A Son Returned

From a mother’s perspective, TMTL is giving me my life back also. I don’t hesitate to answer my sons phone calls anymore and then beat myself up with guilt ridden feelings about what a horrible mother I was to think negatively about her own son. That would provide the justification needed to continue my own enabling and last-ditch efforts to save my son. I don’t go through a series of maneuvers, like hiding my purse, locking certain doors, or keeping anything of value in my bedroom or closet because Chase is coming over. I don’t feel like my home is being cased or stalked by my own son. I don’t second guess his motives, for the most part, anymore. More than anything else, I don’t fear the knock on the door or answering the phone because it could be someone telling me Chase is gone and he’s not coming back. All those manipulations, anxieties, terrors, self-doubt are gradually becoming a thing of the past because of Chases willingness to accept the mentorship and guidance of TMTL. Chase has allowed God to work in his life and made the choice to seek him first. God has chosen to show up in both of our lives in a very big way. To say I am grateful to TMTL is a huge understatement. TMTL and God have literally given me my son back. The beautiful soul with the heart of an angel, when sober, his light shines bright from within and infects all around him with his special form of joy that I feel is straight from the father meant to bless and show what hope looks like.
